Dearest Members,
First of all, we want to thank everybody who has shown interests in the
Public Health Association. A special thanks to all those who came out last
night!
We had a lot of fun meeting each and every one of you!!! From the Ice
breaker, we sure learn some fascinating info : We all love our mascot *the
Anteater*, Enjoy long walks in Aldrich Park, and in favor of the color *blue
* because it reminds us of the sunny southern California sky ^_^
In the meeting, we were very fortunate to have Dr. Bic to come and talk to
us about her accomplishments and her devotion in public health. If you have
any questions/comment that you want to share with Dr. Bic, then you can
email her or go to her office hour on Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm on 2nd
floor of Social Ecology (SE I ).
I have attached a copy of the flyer that we passed out during the meeting.
On the flyer, you will see our mission statement and description of the
different officer positions(such as secretary, publicity coordinator,
treasurer, and much more!). Currently, we are seeking enthusiastic and hard
working members to join our staff team! If YOU are interested, please email
us at Ucipublichealth@gmail.com and attach a short description of why you
are interested for the particular position. Examples are your
qualification, your passion for public health, etc.
Also, we are searching for newsletter writers!! For newsletter writers,
please submit some of your past works. In the newsletter, we are hoping
to educate the students about health-related issues, what classes to take
for the Public Health major, tips about leading a healthy life,
etc. This is a club project. Therefore, email us if you have any ideas of
what you think is best for the newsletter!! [ Use your noodles! :) ]

on, check the website that Sara has created!!!
Our next meeting will be *Wednesday October 18 6pm SSL 140*. Please come on
out and support the Public Health Association!
Last but not the least, the Grand result from the Raffle Contest!!! We had
Dr.Bic to do the honor of picking a name from the Fish Bowl. (Pictures will
be posted online!) *CONGRATULATIONS TO BONNIE LUU* for winning $20 Gift
Certificate to Trader Joe's!!! (Gerald- you can now borrow Bonnie's gift cad
:P) Again, Congrats to Bonnie!! yay!
We truly hope that you are able to take away some useful information from
our meetings! This club is made to help you understand and learn all aspect
of Public Health. Therefore, keep us in your inner circle by always
contacting us to tell us how *WE* can improve and what you want out of this
experience.

Greetings Everyone!
Class in Middle Earth. It's a 1.3 unit class on Tuesdays from 4-5:30 pm
starting Week 3. If you are interested go by the Health Education Center
as soon as possible and pick up an Add Card! It's a really fun class and a
great way to meet people and learn a lot of stuff at the same time! If you
